Dr Delfin Sansom

Dr Delfin Sansom is an accredited Skin Cancer College of Australasia doctor working across several skin cancer services in the Hobart region. He is currently the only fellow of the Skin Cancer College of Australasia working in Tasmania. Dr Sansom holds a Masters of Medicine in skin cancer from the University of Queensland, plus multiple additional skin cancer specific qualifications.

Dr Sansom is dedicated to providing the highest standard of skin cancer care for his patients. Complementing his clinical work, he is involved in the teaching of other skin cancer doctors, general practitioners, and medical students. Passionate about advocating for patient care in the community, Dr Sansom is a council member for the Tasmanian Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.

Dr Sansom provides collaborative skin cancer care, regularly attending multidisciplinary skin cancer and histology review meetings. It is here that complex cases are discussed and managed in a multidisciplinary setting within the medical community.

Dr Sansom offers the full array of skin cancer screening services and treatments that are available in an outpatient setting. Including simple surgical and non-surgical treatments, in addition to more complex surgical closures where clinically indicated. Dr Sansom audits his surgical practice using the SCARD clinic database and case discussion groups to ensure quality outcomes.

As a specialist general practitioner with a special interest and additional training in skin cancer medicine, patients may self-refer to Dr Sansom for their skin cancer care. Alternatively, Dr Sansom welcomes referrals from other specialist general practitioners or specialist colleagues.
